How to Make Money on the Stock Market with CFD Trading
Posted by admin as shares and stocks
A Contract for Difference, or CFD is an two way trading deal between two different parties based on the rise or fall in the trading price of an agreed number of shares in a company over an agreed time - no actual share purchase is necessary. Sounds complicated, but its not really. Major hedge funds have been making use of CFDs in the UK stock market for just over ten years instead of regular share trading. There are many points of similarity between CFDs and financial spread betting in that both are margined products so you can gear yourself up or take a position that is a multiple of your available funds.
So think about it from the point of a margin on a firm youre interested in, if it was 10% establishing a position of £100,000 would really only require a deposit of £10,000. Any running profits that you make can actually be used as margin to esablish new positions but any losses would have to be made good by reducing your position or by providing extra funds.
While the stamp duty of 0.5% on all UK share purchases has in the opinion of some traders reduced the cost effectiveness of ‘day-trading’ traditional stocks and shares, both CFDs and spread betting are exempt and this has added to their appeal. CFDs are liable to capital gains tax whereas spread bets are tax free, but losses incurred from spread bets are gone for good while CFD losses can be offset against any future profits for the purpose of tax. When you trade in CFDs, you purchase those contracts in almost the same way that youd buy shares. So if you wanted exposure to 1,000 shares in a company, youd have to sell 1,000 contracts at, say, 494p per contract rather than simply placing a £10 per point bet with spread betting to get a similar return.
A lot of CFD providers allow you to post orders anywhere within the bid offer spread whereas spread betting firms post their own two-way, take it or leave it price in the same way a bookie would. With CFD you are the cost maker, which is why hedge funds tend to use CFDs rather than spread betting. CFDs do not enfold the costs of financing a position within the spread (as does spread betting) but charge those costs and commissions separately. With CFDs the charges and commissions involved in a trade are not part of the spread, which is the case with financial spread betting. Because of this, the CFD spread quote will forever be very close to the underlying price of the share or commodity that you are following. CFDs also mimic nearly every aspect of owning the underlying share or market, so if you hold a position for a long enough time period you will recieve the benefit from any dividends being paid on the shares.
CFDs and spread betting have particular features that will appeal to different trading styles and there is no one best instrument to use. However they should not be regarded as substitutes for long term investment or saving, as more people seek to take control of their financial destiny, theres been a growing realisation that going short is a legitimate means of trading in market thats become progressively difficult to profit from in a traditional sense.

Stock Prices and Valuation
Posted by admin as shares and stocks
The value of a firm’s stock price reflects what the investors believe is a good value in comparison to its future performance. For example, If Apple Stock traded at $122.50, that means investors believe that the share price reflects firm’s future potential. Investor’s don’t necessarily “care” how Apple did 5 years ago, but rather are more concerned with how Apple is going to do in the next 5 years. You also have to take into consideration that on paper, stock price of a company is supposed to reflect all variables that might affect its price, including newly released information, this is also known as Efficient Efficient Market Hypothesis EMH.
We will use Shares interchangeably with stocks. When you buy stocks of a firm, you are essentially buying a small portion of a corporation’s ownership. When, people but a company’s share, their overall ownership in the firm is very firm. When investors buy shares of a firm, they become it’s owners, no matter how small their ownership is.
Historical share price information can help investors in finding out how a company’s share reacted when it exceeded or failed to deliver its expectations. Share price history can help you in making decisions like how the stock of the corporation will respond to a trademark lawsuit or acquisition of an another company. Even though each situation is different, knowledge of a company’s historical performance in the stock market will help in making better investing conclusions.
To find out past stock quotes, you can have a service that provides you with raw data which displays corporation’s stock movements for a specified period of time, or you can have a service that provides you detailed historical stock quote movements along with news events that caused it to trend that particular direction. The service that provides detailed movements is a better alternative as it gives information that directly affects the share price.
One of the services that I found useful was “End of Data”, I found the service to provide about 15 years of past share quotes, although that costs money. Yahoo Finance is a good source in finding finacial information about different companies, along with stock quotes of the company.

Learn Share Trading: Top Dog Trading Review
Posted by admin as shares and stocks
Search for ‘Technical Analysis’ on the net and you will be inundated with material, but after much digging and researching I found Top Dog Trading.
Long before I finally started trading Share markets, I realised that fundamental analysis was not an system I could use, but interpreting share charts was something I was much more comfortable with.
What helped my decision to take the Top Dog Trading course to learn Share trading?…. A number of things besides the desire to improve my trading and to halt my run of losing trades; was that I had a good feel for what Dr Barry Burns was imparting on his website and much or the instruction is explained on the detailed videos which makes it much simpler to get your head around. A further qualifier was Barry’s CV; it is what I wished to see, a business man who trades professionally, he is also a highly regarded speaker and writer.
So I signed up for his free 5 video course on learning to trade to see if I felt good about his analysis systems.
Prior to this, I had already done several other courses on technical analysis covering Forex trading but cannot say that I really gained the understanding of share trading that would minimise my trading losses, all this changed once I came across Dr Barry Burns, now I am comfortable with the share trading strategies I have learnt.
With Barry’s courses I have not only become comfortable in how to trade his methods but also embraced a far deeper comprehension of the Share market & the charts but more critically the money management and personal attitudes that are such an important part of becoming a successful Share trader.
As you progress you will discover that Barry details the analysis rules simply and clearly, then gives upto date chart examples with all their un-predictable moves showing how to turn the rules into profitable trades. This is all explained via a vast selection of videos.
Barry teaches methods, which when stuck to, provide a good ratio of wins to losses with tight control on the losses, so when one does lose (which even the best traders do) the financial pain is not too great.
Barry’s courses are the best Share trading courses that I have come across and I would strongly suggest that you give his FREE course a go. This freebie has 5 videos that introduce you to some of the most powerful trading material I’ve ever come across.
I have completed the course, loved it, and gained a vast amount from it and have moved to Barry’s more in-depth courses. My wish to learn Share trading will never again produce the losses of the past.

Market Report - Asia Stocks Up
Posted by admin as shares and stocks
Most Asia markets gain on Tuesday; Shanghai markets fall after earthquake.
ZHANG:
Asian shares gained on Tuesday, led by banks, tech companies, and automakers.
Japan’s benchmark Nikkei (13953.73) climbed 1.5 percent for a second day of gains. Exporters like Sony were among the biggest winners. The world’s top auto maker Toyota edged up on news of plans to boost its production capacity.
China stocks traded in Shanghai fell after the worst earthquake in three decades. Estimates of the total losses in human life and property from the 7.9 magnitude earthquake are still rising. The earthquake will have financial repercussions as well. Sichuan province, where the quake hit the hardest, contains 40 percent of China’s natural gas deposits.
Analysts also predict that the quake could increase inflationary pressure. Inflation in China accelerated to 8.5 percent last month.
In monetary news, the dollar was steady as investors remained uncertain about the direction of U.S. interest rates. Oil prices, meanwhile, retreated as some investors saw a recent rally to record highs as excessive.
